Biographical/Historical note
Organized internationally in 1902 with its headquarters in New York, the Circumnavigators Club is an organization made up of those men and women who have gone around the world in one continuous journey. The Detroit Chapter began with programs in 1957, but the Michigan Chapter, with members from all over the state, was approved four years later. The first meeting of the official Michigan branch of the Circumnavigators Club was held on January 23, 1962 at Little Harry's Restaurant in Detroit.
