Biographical/Historical note
Born in Canandaigua, N.Y., May 20,1804, the son of Harvey Stewart of Mass., who came west and settled on the Thames River prior to the War of 1812. He married Roda Putnam, who died in 1810; and second, Mary Graveraet of Albany. By the first marriage he had two sons, Aura. P. and John H; and by the second, three sons and three daughters.
