Scope and Contents note

Papers contain business and other correspondence of the Bleecker, Abeel and Collins families of Albany, New York, from the seventeenth to early nineteenth centuries. Also included are papers of General Jonathan Forman of New Jersey in the Revolutionary War and the Whiskey Insurrection; and papers relating to General John Godwin's estate. Two letters from Alexander Macomb and Alexander Hamilton to Rutger Bleecker are dated May 26, 1769 and April 5, 1797, respectively (Box 2).
